Consumers’ right of withdrawal

Consumers may withdraw from their purchase within fourteen calendar days after the contract is concluded, without giving a reason. Downloading or opening the PDF does not remove this right. Any longer period or extension required by applicable law remains available.

How to submit a request

To exercise your right of withdrawal, email martindarlewood@gmail.com with a clear statement that you wish to withdraw from your purchase and receive a refund. If possible, include your order number or the email address used for the purchase to help us identify your order.

The withdrawal form at the end of these Terms and Conditions is another option. Using this form is not compulsory.

Refunds following withdrawal

If you exercise your statutory right of withdrawal, we refund your payment in full, without undue delay and no later than fourteen days after receiving your withdrawal request.

We use the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise, with no additional fees. No deduction is made because you have downloaded or opened the PDF. No physical return is required.

Other refund requests and statutory rights

You may also contact us to request a refund outside the scope of your statutory rights. These requests are considered individually.

Nothing in this section limits your statutory guarantees or any other rights, remedies or refunds provided by applicable law.

7. Statutory guarantees

The seller is responsible for the statutory guarantees applicable to the digital content. To exercise these rights, the purchaser may use the contact details specified in Section 1.

Information box — Guarantees applicable to consumers

For a one-off supply of digital content, the seller is liable for defects that were present at the time of supply and become apparent within the following two years. During the first year, the consumer must demonstrate the defect without having to prove that it already existed at the time of supply.

Updates necessary to maintain conformity must be provided under the conditions prescribed by law. This obligation does not constitute a promise to provide new editions of the book.

If a defect occurs, the consumer may request that it be corrected free of charge, without undue delay and without causing them significant inconvenience.

A price reduction or termination of the contract may be requested if the seller refuses to correct the defect, delays correction without justification, imposes costs or significant inconvenience, or if the defect persists despite an attempt to correct it. A sufficiently serious defect may justify these remedies immediately.

For this paid content, a minor defect does not entitle the consumer to terminate the contract. When termination is justified, a full refund is accompanied by the requirement to stop using the content.

Any period during which the content is unavailable because it is being corrected suspends the remaining guarantee period until conforming content is restored.

These rights are governed by Articles L. 224-25-1 to L. 224-25-31 of the French Consumer Code. Deliberately obstructing their exercise may result in a civil fine of up to €300,000, which may be increased to 10% of average annual turnover.

The consumer also benefits from protection against hidden defects under Articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code. They may bring a claim within two years of discovering such defects and, under the conditions provided by law, request a price reduction or a refund in exchange for ceasing use of the content.

Refunds due under the conformity guarantee are made without undue delay and no later than fourteen days after notification of the decision giving entitlement to the refund, without fees and using the original payment method unless expressly agreed otherwise.

8. Use of the book and intellectual property

The purchase authorizes the purchaser to read the book for personal use, including their own professional learning.

It does not transfer any copyright in the text, illustrations or other protected material.

Subject to statutory exceptions, any redistribution of the file, public sharing, resale of copies, reproduction for collective use or commercial exploitation requires prior authorization from the rights holder.

The purchaser may retain the copies necessary for personal use and print the document for that purpose.

9. Educational scope of the content

The book presents business finance concepts and methods for educational purposes.

It does not constitute individualized advice taking each reader’s particular circumstances into account. Applying a method or making a decision may require assistance from a suitably qualified professional.

Purchasing the book does not guarantee any particular financial outcome. This clarification does not limit the seller’s legal obligations or the purchaser’s guarantees.

10. Personal data

The information necessary for ordering, payment and supplying the file is processed as described in the Privacy Policy available on the website.

11. Complaints and mediation

For any complaint, the purchaser may contact the seller using the details specified in Section 1, providing their order reference and details of the problem encountered.

12. Governing law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by French law.

This choice does not deprive a consumer residing in another country of the mandatory protections available to them where those protections apply to the sale.

The applicable legal rules determine which courts have jurisdiction.

Withdrawal form

You may use this form to exercise your right of withdrawal. You may also send a clear statement to martindarlewood@gmail.com or submit an online request as described in Section 6. Using this form is optional.
